Back to the Beginning

We joined the Wellness Center again, just for the winter months. It kinda feels like we're back to the beginning again. It's a strange feeling when you walk into the place you spent hours every day for years and hardly know anyone. I guess that's what you get for taking a year-plus-long hiatus.

I haven't entirely given up since the 10-Day-Cleanse, but I have gained all the weight back, so that's kinda depressing.

The positive part is that I can still knock a solid mile off without too much effort on the treadmill! I just need to be able to watch my food intake a little more.

I've decided that while the 10-day cleanse is a great way to drop serious weight quickly, it's not the best method for me to be serious about changing my lifestyle. I just splurge the second I get off it, and then

I know how to do it, and I just need to get back on the wagon.

I will say this though: I am off artificial sweeteners!! I've been drinking my coffee with just half and half and no sweetener (except on the rare occasion, honey).

And another victory is that I've been maintaining my water intake from the cleanse AND getting a regular night's 7-8 hours of sleep. So it's not ALL bad, right?

I think the good thing about getting this post out there is that I'm not discouraged really - just disappointed. And ya know what? That's OK!!

So I guess the next part needs to be a challenge, right? To keep myself accountable. Well here goes it:

I'm going to do a 30-day challenge:

30 minutes cardio, 6 times a week
keep up the water intake, sleep and elimination of artificial sweeteners
limit to 1800 calories a day
record every bite
