Even though I haven't been actively watching things a lot more, I have been a lot more active recently, and teamed with that, the lack of snacks tempting me at work, and Zumba, I've found myself down to 191 this morning on the scale (whoopie!) It kinda makes me sad and happy at the same time to say that - mainly because I remember a time when 171 was my "whoopie" point, and that's still 20lbs away. I think part of my motivation in recent days is due to my new shoes, partly to Zumba, and partly the fact that it's getting nice enough to run outside again. I've been surprising myself lately with how far I've been able to go! In the past 3 weeks I've done 3 miles 3 times, with a few 5-mile walks.
I'm not claiming to be fast - I felt kinda turtle-esque, to be honest - but it feels good to be able to run that far without keeling over and dying - especially after such a long hiatus from running long distances. But last night I made it my 5.5 mile route - running at least 4 miles of it - and then proceeded to come home and do my Zumba Abs video. I guess this just means that it's not that I can't do this stuff - I just haven't been pushing myself hard enough.
191 is a starting point, but it still is 3.6lbs down from where I was my last post, and that's something! Hopefully I can keep up the motivation!
