Generally, I have no good reason to be skipping my workouts, and then I gain weight and then feel crappy, and then get back in sync and slowly (painfully slowly) lose a few pounds and inches, and then the cycle starts all over.
However, lately, I've had a pretty exciting reason to skip my workouts and gain weight: I'm going to have a baby!

15 Weeks (8/7/2011)
Of course, I haven't really been skipping my workout, persay, I've just been doing less of them, and not as rigorous, and not nearly as regularly.
Instead of shooting for a 3-mile run, I'm hoping to make it through a 1-mile run. It doesn't help that from weeks 6-10 I was struggling to keep my eyes open through the day, and then adding in the nausea, I didn't do much. But 1 mile while 4 months pregnant is an accomplishment for me, and I'll take it!
I've also been doing a fair amount of Zumba when I can handle it - especially on those awful hot summer days, which have been plentiful this summer, unfortunately.
I feel good, though, and have been downing water like it's nobody's business, which has given me a boost of energy most days, which is good!
I've officially broken that deadly 200lb mark, which is disappointing - I always wanted to stay under 200lbs when pregnant, but such is life, and my main focus now is to make sure I'm eating right, exercising, and keeping myself and the baby healthy :)
I'm hoping to be able to start back up training for at least a 5K, maybe even a 10K once the baby is here (January 29 is my due date) in 2012.
But today, I'm fighting off some soreness in my shoulders, pecks and arms from a great workout we got at the fitness center at Sarah and Johannes's apartment this weekend. I did the assisted pull-up machine and whoa doggies - it has been a while, that's for sure! I'm hoping to tone my arms a little and whittle away the inches on my love handles, since I can't really do a full-fledged workout. Maybe even work on my thighs too, but who knows for sure.
